What motivates you to give back to your community?
I believe in the importance of lifting each other up and fostering a supportive environment. It’s crucial to look beyond our personal lives and recognize where we can make a positive impact. This philosophy of collective support and making a difference is what drives me in my work at New American Scholars.
What advice would you give to other young people?
My advice to other young people is to always stay observant. Look around and take notice of the inequities that exist within your community. Recognize disparities and understand that you don’t need to wait for permission to make a change. Your age is not a barrier; in fact, it’s a unique strength. I’ve learned that our youthfulness equips us with fresh perspectives and the energy to challenge the status quo. We, as the next generation, are tasked with shaping our state into a welcoming environment that attracts talented people and families from diverse backgrounds, fostering a community rich in diversity and opportunity.
What would make New Hampshire more attractive to young professionals?
To make New Hampshire more attractive to young professionals, there needs to be a focus on creating more inclusive and diverse professional opportunities. Enhancing cultural, recreational, and career development options, alongside supporting innovative and socially responsible businesses, can make the state a more appealing and vibrant place place for young talent.
Do you see yourself living and working in New Hampshire at age 55-plus?
Certainly! The close-knit and welcoming nature of New Hampshire’s communities has greatly influenced my personal growth, providing an environment that’s both supportive and nurturing. Additionally, the state’s forward-thinking culture and innovative spirit, especially evident in our local businesses, create a dynamic and vibrant setting not just for professionals, but also for families looking for a great place to live and grow.
