What motivates you to give back to your community?
Each time you give back, it strengthens the community and grows your support network. Building those connections and supports are necessary in making the world a better place and if I’m a part of making something better, that’s making a difference and that alone is my motivation.
What advice would you give your 22-year-old self?
What you resist, persists. So, acknowledge your feelings – even the hard ones – and get comfortable with the uncomfortable because that’s when growth occurs.
What would make New Hampshire more attractive to young professionals?
Affordable and accessible child care, along with affordable housing.
Do you see yourself living and working in New Hampshire at age 55-plus?
You bet! New Hampshire has a lot to offer and if I’m looking for something more when I reach middle-age, I’ll decide that when I get there.
Volunteer activities: Served on the Child and Family Studies Advisory Board at New Hampshire Technical Institute, and I have been a participating member in the Capital Area ECE Directors Roundtable Collaborative.
Last major achievement: Named Concord Monitor’s Hometown Hero in January 2024; represented our state on behalf of families and child care agencies as a part of the New Hampshire delegation at the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) Public Policy Forum in Washington, D.C. in February 2023.
