Decked out in bright orange outfits and toting signs promoting kindness, acceptance and inclusion, Ledge Street Elementary School students and their teachers paraded through the halls Friday for Unity Day. Two parades — one for K-2 kids and the other for grades 3-5 — were led by special guest ‘Pat Patriot’ and two members of the New England Patriots cheer squad, who visited classrooms for photo opportunities and in one case, an arm-wrestling contest. Unity Day is observed in October, which is National Bullying Prevention Month.
