The Lenten season is underway and the Knights of Columbus Council #3023 of St. Thomas Aquinas Church once again offers weekly fish dinners.
This is the 14th year for the dinners, with proceeds going to support the Knights’ community charities and other missions.
The meals are popular and that was obvious on the first night, Friday, Feb. 16, when Knights members took to the Aquinas Center parking lot to direct customers pulling into the crowded area to pick up a take-out meal or just park to come inside and enjoy a meal.
In two hours on opening night, more than 300 meals were served.
Knights’ Grand Knight Angelo Petruzziello said the Lenten fish fry is an annual success story to support the organization.
“It’s our biggest fundraiser of the year,” he said.
The meals are served every Friday during the Lenten season, except Good Friday, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Aquinas Center, behind St. Thomas church off Crystal Avenue. Children’s meals are also available.
