PORTSMOUTH — Blues singer and harmonica wizard James Montgomery plays Jimmy’s Jazz and Blues, 135 Congress St., at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Montgomery, a member of the New England Music Hall of Fame, has toured with Aerosmith, Janis Joplin, The J. Geils Band, Bonnie Raitt, Bruce Springsteen, The Allman Brothers, The Steve Miller Band, The Johnny Winter Band and The Blues Brothers with (Jim Belushi and Dan Aykroyd), among others.

He was a co-producer on documentary about James “Super Harp” Cotton, a legendary singer, songwriter and harmonica who died in 2017.

Montgomery and his band also released “A Tribute to Paul Butterfield,” another blues great.

Tickets to Montgomery’s concert are $10-$50.
