Park Theatre to present Orson Welles classic
JAFFREY — The Park Theatre, 19 Main St., will screen the 1946 Orson Welles classic, “The Stranger,” at 7 p.m. Friday.
Immediately following World War II, ex-Nazi Franz Kindler (Welles) is living under a false identity as a teacher in a small Connecticut town and has even married the headmaster’s daughter (Loretta Young) as part of his cover. But when one of Kindler’s old German associates arrives unexpectedly in town, bringing in his wake a sly federal investigator, Kindler resorts to desperate measures to preserve his secret.
The film originally opened on July 7, 1946. Run time is 1 hour, 35 minutes. Tickets are $9-$10.

Who’s Bad pays tribute to the King of Pop
MANCHESTER — Who’s Bad, the Ultimate Michael Jackson Experience, will run for two shows Saturday at 2 and 7:30 p.m. at the Palace Theatre, 80 Hanover St.
This power-packed performance of Jackson’s expansive catalog is the longest-running Michael Jackson tribute show, and the only one to predate his untimely passing.
Who’s Bad pays studious attention to Jackson’s every original groove and gravity-defying dance move, boasting more than 100 years of professional experience and a team of dancers with resumes that range from Broadway productions to Super Bowl halftime shows.

Wasserman Park to host Winter Carnival
MERRIMACK — The Parks and Recreation Department will present its 32nd annual Winter Carnival at Wasserman Park from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday.
This event is held outside to promote enjoying the outdoors during the winter months. It will feature games, crafts, raffles and other activities. Typically this event draws more than 1,000 attendees.
The following nonprofit organizations will have food for sale during the event: Gate City Charter School, Jolleycations, Merrimack Friends & Families, Merrimack Girl Scouts Brownie Troop 62222 and SCARE.

Choral groups join NH Phil for Mahler performance
SALEM — The New Hampshire Philharmonic Orchestra will perform in collaboration with soloists and choral groups from Keene State College and Plymouth State University to present Gustav Mahler’s monumental Resurrection Symphony at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at the Seifert Performing Arts Center, 44 Geremonty Drive.
Mahler’s Resurrection Symphony, Symphony No. 2, is a deeply emotional and spiritually resonant work that explores themes of life, death and resurrection.
It is prominently featured in Bradley Cooper’s Netflix film, “Maestro,” in which Cooper portrays American conductor and composer Leonard Bernstein.
