What motivates you to give back to your community?
Growing up, I was blessed with some great mentors in Manchester who encouraged me to get involved. I participated in every community service opportunity offered at the Boys & Girls Club of Manchester as a club kid. Giving back allowed me to learn empathy and build connections with others in my community. I love that, years later, I can continue to give back to the same city and organization that poured so much into me.
What advice would you give your 22-year-old self?
Don’t allow fear to stop you from achieving your vision and goals! But please remember to laugh, cherish friends and family, and have fun. I promise it will all work out along the way!
What would make New Hampshire more attractive to young professionals?
Continuing to create affordable housing options, expanding art and culture opportunities. These things wouldn’t just benefit young professionals but the state as a whole.
Do you see yourself living and working in New Hampshire at age 55-plus?
Absolutely, I genuinely believe that there is no place like home.
Volunteer activities: Advisory Board for City of Manchester’s Office of Youth Services; founding member and leader of Blue Circle Young Professional Society; Leadership Greater Manchester (Class of 2023); N.H. Millennials of Color; founder of Mama’s Stocking Project, filling Christmas stockings for single mothers so they do not wake up to empty stockings on Christmas.
Last major achievement: Losing over 50 pounds in the last few months to keep up with my incredibly fast 4-year-old! And spearheading an initiative filling 10 stockings for local mothers, with the support of some great friends, this past Christmas.
